We were awarded the contract to upgrade an existing 1400m2 cleanroom facility from a class 100,000 to a class 10,000 US Fed. Std 209D cleanroom.

The upgrade consisted of increasing the air change rates, filtration levels and differential room pressures within the facility. This was achieved by adding various air handling units, air conditioning systems, ductwork, HEPA filters and associated services including a Modus pressure monitoring system.

The upgrade was completed in only three weeks during an allocated shutdown period so production was not effected.

Further to the successful continuous work at the company's Rhymney site, we were engaged to take on a trouble shooting exercise at ConvaTec's Deeside plant. The cleanroom in question was not achieving the air change rates and room pressure differential classification to meet the required standard. We carried out a feasibility study followed by on-site testing of the plant's air handling systems and inverters.

To gain further airflow within the systems, higher capacity HEPA filters were installed and the rooms properly sealed. Upon completion of the works the cleanroom facility was tested and conformed to the required standard.
