Koehler Chemie Ltd (formerly AorTech Ltd)
We were awarded the contract to design and build a new cleanroom facility for a company that manufactures implantable devices.

Koehler Chemie Ltd, recently the buyers of AorTech LTD, manufacture and distribute products within the cardiovascular field and have become one of the leading tissue heart valve manufacturers in the world.

The 380m2 cleanroom facility was designed and built to Classification ISO Class 7 and localised ISO Class 5 (BS EN ISO 14644-1-1999) equivalent to Class 10,000 and localised Class 100 (US Fed Std 209E).

We were responsible for the complete design and construction of the cleanroom facility, dealing directly with the client, providing all support services and internal furnishings.

The mechanical services plant consisted of an external air handling unit that provides the fresh air supply, humidification and pressure requirements to the cleanroom.

A number of fan coil systems combine with the incoming fresh air providing the required temperature. HEPA and ULPA filtration provides the particulate classification and differential pressures within the facility.

We carried out the final testing, commissioning and validation and commissioning of the facility and it was handed over to the client with production now in full operation. We also have an ongoing contract with Koehler Chemie to provide the regular service and maintenance for the facility.
